Caregivers
- A caregiver is an individual that will assist a qualified patient in obtaining medical marijuana
- An individual may be a caregiver for up to 5 patients
- Patients may designate up to 2 caregivers that will pick up medical marijuana in their stead
- Be over 21 years old
- Be a resident of New York State
- Be designated by the patient
- Register with the New York State Department of Health
Patients under 18 years old
- Require a caregiver who is a parent or legal guardian of the patient
- Application for registry card must be made by person over 21 years old who serves as a proxy applicant
- Proxy applicant must be a resident of New York State and can also be a patient's caregiver
