Caregivers

Caregivers
  • A caregiver is an individual that will assist a qualified patient in obtaining medical marijuana
  • An individual may be a caregiver for up to 5 patients
  • Patients may designate up to 2 caregivers that will pick up medical marijuana in their stead
In order to be a caregiver an individual must
  1. Be over 21 years old
  2. Be a resident of New York State
  3. Be designated by the patient
  4. Register with the New York State Department of Health
Patients under 18 years old
  • Require a caregiver who is a parent or legal guardian of the patient
  • Application for registry card must be made by person over 21 years old who serves as a proxy applicant
  • Proxy applicant must be a resident of New York State and can also be a patient's caregiver
